The Community Coach will engage with disadvantaged people with multiple barriers; assessing their needs, aspirations and supporting with tailored support involving signposting and making referrals to other support, community activities, Positive People and other Dominion Training services. With the aim of enabling people to access support to become socially included, improve Health and wellbeing, possibly moving towards training, educations and/or employment. This role will involve the Community Coach engaging with people and encouraging them to be involved in a range of community groups, organisations and projects within a specified area, and developing local community relationships. |

Key responsibilities and accountabilities |

1. |
Conduct welcome/introduction meetings for small groups or individuals, to undertake an initial needs assessment, sharing knowledge of local support available. |
2. |
To work collaboratively with Dominion Training Team who have a good knowledge of community activities and health/wellbeing support available, including those offered by the voluntary sector, community organisations, learning establishments, welfare to work and the NHS; aiming to encourage people to engage with these services and help them to overcome any barriers they may encounter. |
3. |
Undertake initial assessments with participants, update records and book follow-up meetings with a Change Coach or Digital Skills Adviser, and other organisations where appropriate. |
4. |
Organise and undertake Positive People activities and events working collaboratively with the Positive People team. |
5. |
Act as point of contact, provide telephone/online support to a caseload of pre-referrals. |
6. |
Provide timely reviews, ad-hoc support and give advice to enable participants to achieve their goals and aspirations (as agreed in action plans and smart targets). |
7. |
Ensure Dominion Training system is kept up to date, recording accurate data on potential participants. |
8. |
Build good relationships with local community organisations to facilitate the development of natural support for people- including site visits. |
9. |
Work to the targets and KPI’s defined by the Partnership Manager. |
10. |
Manage a personal caseload of ‘pre-referrals’, being the initial single point of contact, signposting appropriately to help remove barriers to people achieving their aspirations. |
11. |
Partnership working with core delivery partners and specialist partners to reach the wider goals of the project aims and share opportunities. |
12. |
To actively and positively promote Dominion Training’s, its vision and values at all times. To include targeted marketing activities such as networking, attendance at events and public relations activity in line with the Dominion Training’s Marketing Strategy. |
13. |
Promote the organisations values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, integrity, corporate, social responsibility, equal opportunities and diversity as referenced in the company policy and values standards. |
14. |
Responsibility to act on any issues of concern in relation to Safeguarding Adults and Children. This requires adhering to and acting on Dominion Training’s policies and procedures. |
15. |
Uphold and comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and confidentiality standards. |
