Last week via zoom was great with other connecting opportunity programme partners analysing ways to continuously deliver quality support to our diverse participants & learners. It was priceless to see all share their challenges of how COVID-19 has impacted on ESOL teaching delivery. This was a brainstorming session and partners shared resources designed to improve participant learning.

**Women Centred Working initiative programme**
Our Connection opportunities team had an invaluable time during an online session with our partners gaining significant knowledge about the Women Centred Working initiative.
The project is about sharing good practice and promoting effective women centred approaches to support the design and delivery of better services that respond to the diverse experiences and needs of women migrants. This intiative is a hands-on approach which also involves changing thinking through evaluation, reflection and learning alongside various project partners. This work often highlights the complex problems such as joblessness or low skilled jobs, exploitation and domestic abuse.
You will be please to know that there is support and we encourage all women living in wakefield facing some kind of difficulty to get in touch. Your enquiry will be treated confidentially.
Our Hopeful Families team stand in unity with our Wakefield community and our various programme partners Halifax Opportunities Trust, Yorkshire Children's Centre and Groundworks to continously support the vulnerable and the homeless. If you are homeless and unemployed, do get in touch with Dominion Training as soon as you possibly can.
The Homeless & our commitment to keep Wakefield safer
During this pandemic, creating stability and improving safety for those who are homeless has been a priority for our housing team. We have worked closely with Wakefield Council to place 8 people into accomodations they can now proudly call their homes.
It does not stop there. There is continous support for all aspects of their personal development by close supervision, tailored mentorship and personalised training.
Our Hopefamilies and Connecting Opportunities projects are still open for new referrals. We are carrying out essential work to support those extremely vulnerable & our participants during the pandemic. Our learners are encouraged to use this opportunity to grow their skills and take advantage of our eLearning page and online courses from home.
THE HOMELESS AND OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
You will be please to know we are working closely with Wakefield Council Housing Team to ensure the Homeless are off the streets and placed in secure & safe accommodations. This involves collaborative effort from agencies such as the probation services. We will all Beat COVID-19 TOGETHER

We were at Oxfam with our participants and learners for an extensive tour of their facility. This opportunity is priceless. They are leaders in recyling, renewable energy, online digital marketing and a top employer for volunteers

Social and environmental sustainability is at the top of our agenda this year. We were invited to Renewi UK Limited who are a leading 'waste-to-product company'. About 90% of their 14 million tonnes of waste yearly is either recycled or used for energy
Raymond's Success Story !!
After 17years, Raymond was made redundant and heard about Dominion Training.
Raymond tells us how proud he is to get a job as a support worker and his passion helping the vulnerable. This would not be possible without our various partners and the Wakefield Council.

Big thanks to Auto Makeup Ltd who have taken on Nelson as a Trainee in their body shop and repair centre. Their wealth of knowledge and time they intend to pass on Nelson is priceless.

World Mental Health Day to us, is about positively celebrating awareness for the global community and to educate, enlighten and empower individuals to become the best in life.

Connecting Opportunities
Art works of our participants and learners are currently being displayed at Trinity Walk Shopping Centre Wakefield.
This is a massive achievement that we have been selected as the best team and they decided to showcase our work.
They have also selected Dominion for a case study developed by Yorkshire sculpture International.

We have been at the Hopeful Families Celebration, looking at the incredible work of all our charities contributing to the @HopefulFamilies project. We are truly honoured to be part of this fantastic working family who all go above and beyond to change lives every day.
We have been pleased to work with #BikeRight to enable our candidates through active and environmentally aware mobility. With transport comes opportunities, and this scheme not only educated, but the candidates were given a free bike at the end too!

A partnership of six West Yorkshire voluntary and community organisations has secured a Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund grant to help individuals from the regions most socially excluded families.
Awards for All has given us funding for our Community Integration programme.
This funding will allow us to work with local residents, refugees, asylum seekers and new emerging EU communities in the District so as to enable them to settle down in our community.
We will work with participants so as to develop their English Language skills as this will enable them to have access to services and integrate into our system. We will also provide IAG services in the course of the programme so that participants are well and properly directed.
