ESOL Tutor (volunteer)

About the role

We are currently seeking dynamic, flexible and committed teachers to lead a daytime ESOL class for adults and young people. ESOL classes at Dominion Training form a vital part of our provision for the refugees and asylum seekers that we work with.

The classes are informal and help learners to develop the language skills they need to access local services as well as develop social networks in their new community.

Teachers will form part of a supportive ESOL team, including other teachers and the ESOL Coordinator, who will assist with lesson planning, delivery and target setting.

The ideal candidate will;

  • Have a commitment to support refugees and migrants
  • Be willing to develop teaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Ability to work with vulnerable individuals

Dominion Training is committed to providing our staff and volunteers with the skills and knowledge to allow them to successfully pursue a career in the voluntary sector. We provide regular supervision for volunteers to discuss skills and knowledge development, and volunteers will also have access to a cycle of in-house training.
