Study Four

John Pamment was referred to us from the Job Centre for support with basic skills and employability skills development. At the first meeting it was observed that John was homeless and he does not have any means of identification. We also did a skills check and discovered that he has not got any qualification, he had little aspiration and he was not optimistic about his future.

We supported him and assisted him to apply for the copy of his birth certificate from the Wakefield District registrar, after this we assisted him to apply for council housing and thereafter enrolled him on our programmes. John was delighted to have a home of his own, his confidence grew based on the changes in his life and knowing fully well that there is always a place to go to for support.

John achieved functional skills (maths) qualification and Level 2 SIA (Security) qualification and he has also completed our employability skills training. We applied for his SIA licence (Badge) and thereafter he secured employment. John says ‘Dominion has really changed my life’.

John has also referred his friend unto our programme.
