Study One

Josef Gadzo and Terezie Gadzova enrolled on the programme because they want to improve their life and work skills. Having never worked in the UK and not being able to read, write and speak English Language was a barrier and also their lack of understanding of how to develop work skills coupled with their lack of knowledge of how to use the computer to perform basic tasks.

At the initial meeting prior to being enrolled with us, our staff communicated with the Gadzos with the help of an interpreter and he explained to them the details of the programme and what they will gain by attending and the levels of supports available and how they and their family members can access these supports.

Josef and Terezie have developed the language skills, they can communicate now without the aid of an interpreter, they have also been able to use the ICT system without support, they can sign-on to the their jobmatch accounts themselves. They also have an up-to-date CVs and they know how to access basic needs such as healthcare, banking, etc.

Having benefited so much through the support for families programme, they have encouraged their three sons to come on the programme. Their children name Marian, Josef (jnr) and Patrik have joined the programme and they have also improved their English Language skills and employability skills. They enjoy learning together as a family and they do jobsearch together every week. Marian, Josef (Jnr.) and Patrik are also excited about the improvements they have made on the programme as they are able to support their wives and children in the area of education, bills payments, GP bookings and attendance, etc.

All five of them are now in employment and they are supporting their families accordingly.
